Phoebe Philo for Celine took this trend on board beautifully when she designed the incredibly chic collection of classic box bags. This parred back look is very clean, minimal and versatile. It epitomises understated luxury.
Worthy of a mention are the box bags that Marc Jacobs created as he celebrated the female form in his latest show for Louis Vuitton. Steering away from the louder monogram prints, these bags were oh so chic without sacrificing practicality.
I prefer the slightly more embellished version by Proenza Schouler, which is less lady-like and more rock and roll. The caramel suede, along with the subtlety of the blue python trim, teamed with the silver hardware has me lusting over this item.
This strong, yet elegant and feminine look is predicted to transcend seasons. If you keep it simple, it’s a piece you’d eventually hand down to your daughter, to the envy of all her friends.
Now wouldn’t it be great if we could have our initials embossed onto our box bag too?
